ACIITC has long been the technology leadership group of the aged care industry. The "round tables" established in 2021 are collaboration groups between interested parties across the industry to review and formulate directions for the organisation to pursue and lobby for.

Rembrandt Living is a small NFP aged care provider specialising in aged care services for the Dutch community. As a member of the Board I share responsibility for the governance and strategic direction of the organisation.

In conjunction with the SA Department of State Development, establishing a new cluster under the Governor's Aboriginal Employment Industry Clusters Program to promote the employment of Aboriginal persons amongst Local Government in South Australia.

Campbelltown City Council is a moderate-sized municipality (population 52,000) located in the eastern suburbs of Adelaide, South Australia. The corporation comprises around 150 employees and has an annual budget around $40M. The role of Mayor is one of the 11 elected members and is akin to that of a typical Non-executive Chairperson of many Australian corporations (although liabilities are quite different). The major roles are legislatively:- Chair meetings of the Council- Act as the Principal Spokesperson of the Council- Advise the CEO in the interpretation of Council decisions- Perform appropriate ceremonial and community duties- Participate in the deliberations and civic activities of the council- Keep the council's objectives and policies under review to ensurethat they are appropriate and effective- Keep the council's resource allocation, expenditure and activities,and the efficiency and effectiveness of its service delivery, underreview- Advocate for the interests of residents and ratepayers- Provide community leadership and guidance- Ensure the views of residents and ratepayers are properly considered by Council- Other governance requirements as set out in Section 8 of the Local Government Act 1999 and several other relevant Acts

As a Director of the organisation I made the following specific contributions to help move South Australia and Australia towards reconciliation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples:- Supported the decision making processes of the Board to move the objectives of the organisation forward- Assisting the organisation to engage further with the Local Government sector- Supported many events held by the organisation itself, or by other organisations fostering reconciliation- Advice and assistance to the General Manager and staff as appropriate, particularly in the area of Local Government and Information Technology

This included: - A moderate-sized computer network covering 5 major Australian sites and 5 international sales sites, plus considerable national and international remote access- Around 200 desktop systems all up- Several monolithic and distributed servers- A mixture of centralised ERP system and satellite business systems supporting manufacturing and sales- Telephony and automation systems- Disaster recovery

Created and maintained the first SAAFL web site (www.saafl.asn.au) using a combination of HTML and Active Server Pages (ASP) referencing the internal database used by the organisation to dynamically publish all fixtures, results and premiership tables online. This allowed the organisation to continue with their internal database system and provide accurate and timely information to members and followers.

NRG Flinders (now part of Alinta Energy) was a major baseload energy provider to South Australia. They operated the Northern Power Station and Playford Power Stations in Pt Augusta, the Leigh Creek coalfield & township, and the railway between them. Based in Adelaide, this was initially a 6 month contract position that was extended twice. Main achievements were:- Completed a long-standing project to provide Health, Safety & Environment incident collection & reporting, substantially reducing labour input.- Created several new and innovative reporting solutions for Occupational Health & Safety and Human Resources reporting using a combination of Mincom MIMS ERP System data extracts and Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.- Implementing MIMS Claims (Workers Compensation) module to replace legacy system and ensure WorkCover self-insurer compliance.- Several projects to collect and report costing of work using MIMS Project and Work Order modules.- Researched, recommended and implemented the COBIT IT Governance platform throughout the IT function of the company.

First Ecom was a startup "dot com" company providing online payment services as a back end to web-based shops or bill payments. It was one of the first such services outside of the banking arena and was similar in concept to PayPal (before that service was even known). The business was placed into voluntary administration in May 2001 due to financial issues and alleged misfeasance by a Director. Main roles/achievements were:- Analyse business needs, design, specify and write system changes/new systems, plan, implement, write documentation, help etc. Principle development environments SoftVelocity Clarion (an OOP 4GL) and Active Server Pages (ASP). Also HTML and Java Script- Responsible for training, supervision and mentoring a team of four programmers of varying skill levels- Manage and review projects on a regular basis and adjust to highly dynamic business needs and plans.- Liaise with customers and management to determine software change requirements.- Research database and programming technologies and recommend changes to management. - Prototype new system ideas and manage development to maturity
