*Epworth Freemasons Hospital*Epworth Victoria Parade*Cliveden PrivateThis role manages the day-to-day operations of three busy hospitals with 224 overnight acute beds including 34 postnatal suites, 9 fully equipped delivery suites, a special care nursery, 14 operating theatres and an 8-bed intensive care unit. With over 1200 staff and hundreds of visiting medical specialist, the Chief Operations Manager ensures we deliver an exceptional patient experience, every day. The role is responsible for driving clinical excellence and improved performance, accountability and the execution of key strategies, whilst ensuring effective structures and processes are in place to achieve organisational goals.As well as being one of Victoria's best maternity hospitals, we care for over 38,000 patients per year, undertake 24,000 surgical procedures and nearly 3000 births. We also specialise in Women’s health services, comprehensive cancer care and a full range of surgical services, including robotic assisted surgery.

This position leads the Human Resources function at the world class Epworth Hospital Richmond, which covers over 2700 staff and 550 acute beds. It is in the midst of a substantial growth phase with a number of major capital developments and acquisitions underway and will increase in size over the coming years to 777 beds and 42 operating theatres. This position operates autonomously, reporting into the Group Corporate Executive Director of Human Resources. The Epworth Group overall is Victoria’s largest not-for-profit private hospital group, with over 1500 beds across numerous sites and over 7,000 staff. It provides acute medical and surgical services, sub-acute care, diagnostics and rehabilitation services for in excess of 140,000 patients annually. I worked in this role with Corporate Express/Staples International as a respected and autonomous HRM, reporting into the Executive General Manager of Human Resources, Sydney. I have over fifteen years experience in Strategic Human Resources Management and Industrial Relations, across dynamic and commercially focussed organisations.As a member of the Corporate Express Aus/NZ Leadership Group and with First Class Honours in my Master of Business, I have a passion for improving organisational effectiveness through the alignment people management initiatives with strategy. I have worked actively with all stakeholders to facilitate national organisational redesign, developed and executed on business strategy, improved leadership skills via executive coaching, implemented compensation and benefits strategies as well as facilitated talent management and succession planning programmes.I currently manage the HR functions in Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia, partnering with Executive Management whilst working hands-on with our frontline staff.
