During the summer of 2014, I was a junior field engineer at the Concord Adex Tango II project. The project was a 21 storey residential condominium located in North York, Ontario. Under the supervision of the superintendent and the field engineer, I was responsible of coordinating concrete pours for the site. As the concrete was approaching completion, I started looking after the horizontal and vertical fire penetrations of the suites and updating the project schedule on a weekly basis.

During the fall of 2013, I was a junior field engineer at Project BORR. The project was part of the Long-Term Accommodation plan for a new headquarters for the Communication Security Establishment Canada. The new facility is a state-of-the-art, high security facility, with LEED Gold accreditation and will be the largest repository of top secret information in Canada. Under the supervision of an assistant superintendent and a field engineer, I was responsible of the washroom finishes, updating the deficiency log and performing air pressure testing to the raised access flooring.

During the winter semester of 2013, I worked as a junior estimator at PCL. I had the opportunity to work on very large projects at different stages. For most of the semester, I worked on the Rideau Center Expansion, Deloitte Tower, Bayshore Shopping Center and the Relocation of the Bank of Canada. My main daily tasks were to perform quantity take-offs, reading and understanding drawings and creating spreadsheets to accelerate the process of quantifying materials. Items that I quantified were concrete, form work, reinforcing steel, structural steel, lighting, flooring and walls finishes, miscellaneous steel, washroom accessories, excavations and more.

During the summer of 2012, I was an assistant to the construction engineer on several small scale projects in the Ottawa/Gatineau region. The projects were green demolitions and heritage building retrofitting. Under the supervision of the construction engineer, I was responsible for writing project specifications, coordinating and supervising contractors, and arranging documents for tendering action.

Sudbury, Ontario

During the summer of 2011, I was a research assistant on the PICASSO project at SNOLAB. The goal of the project was track down dark matter. During the work term, I operated the undergrpund experiment and wrote operator reports at the end pf each run, analysed the data taken from the experiment and designed programs using MATLAB and ROOT software to facilitate the data processing.
