The purpose of my role as continuous improvement director, is to develop and document systems and processes to maintain consistently high standards of efficiency, safety, and quality across the organisation, under all conditions, while minimising risk, maintaining a functional and fulfilling team environment with a continuous improvement culture that delivers the best possible outcomes for all stakeholders.

As Managing Director of Gardner Vaughan Group, I view my role as “head of vision, people, performance and culture”.It starts with assembling the right crew, and from there my core role is to provide the optimum conditions for them to thrive, ensuring they have a sense of purpose and belonging in a role that enhances and challenges their strengths and provides growth and fulfilment.I draw on 25 years of experience in building, development, and business to provide support, guidance, and direction, and ensure that our board and executive's vision, mission, and values are kept in focus, challenges dealt with, risks managed and opportunities realised.In my time as Managing Director of Gardner Vaughan Group, my focus was on facilitating the group's transition to a vertically integrated organisation and leading the new senior leadership teams' succession following the previous directors stepping back from their operational roles.During my four-year tenure as MD, Gardner Vaughan Group successfully; * Navigated the COVID-19 pandemic, * Constructed the tallest residential timber building in Australia pioneering CLT construction in Brisbane, * Saw out the supply and labour constraints that severely impacted the construction industry causing cost increases of over 35% over 3 years, * Grew its operational team from a staff of 23 to over 50 staff while business turnover grew by 500%.My most satisfying achievements over this period however were re-establishing the company values and purpose, and putting together a staff and leadership team that has industry-leading knowledge and skills along with the values and who are genuinely driven to achieve Gardner Vauhan Groups Purpose.The realisation of this allowed the other 3 operational directors to assume control of the business and myself to move into a director role focused on improving the companies processes in July of 2023.

Co-ordinating all departments from aquisition, planning, approvals, design, marketing, sales, through to construction and after sales property management, Gardner Vaughan Group epitomises the true builder developer model. Identifying sites that fit with our development model and working through approvals, design, construction, sales and the after sales property management requires a great deal of co-ordination and collaboration. With our other directors and associate directors I am responsible to make sure the construction department co-ordinates with the other parts of the business, and work within construction to ensure the time, cost, quality and safety outcomes are met through our ISO9001 accredited QA system.

Operating in the role of Construction Manager across a project portfolio, my main focus areas are project governance, financial monitoring and reporting, contract dispute resolutions, client management, construction methodology, value engineering and project scheduling.In the role of Co-Director of the Construction Services division I work alongside the other directors in the areas of strategic direction, procedure review, training, implementation and auditing, safety management, HR as well as being responsible for the companies IT and Communications systems.
