Simon's first position with Tesco as Town Planning Manager was providing advice on extensions and Esso Alliance schemes throughout the UK before moving onto a regional role in 2000 which was combined with a strategic role in 2001. He was appointed Strategic Town Planning Manager in 2003 - a high profile role within the town planning team and Property Acquisition Department. I was involved in 3 OFT/Competition Commission Inquiries (in 1999, 2004 and 2006). During this time I represented Tesco on the National Retail Planning Forum and the CBI's Planning Policy Committee. Simon also spoke at several RTPI conferences on retail planning.Simon's last position with Tesco combined the strategic role with Town Planning Manager for the south west region.

Simon set up an in house town planning expertise within an organisation that provided environmental consultancy service to private and public sector clients

Simon undertook general town planning consultancy work for a variety of clients which was an extension of his previous career with WR Davidge & Partners (1981 to 1984), TP Bennett & Sons (1984 to 1987) and Town Planning Consultancy (1987 to 1989).
