Competent computer skills.During my time with M&S, I worked alongside The Diversity & Inclusion Manager on many different projects. I worked alongside the Diversity & Inclusion Manager as the key project lead, to set up M&S for Cardiff Pride 2019. I did a lot of work within my store as the Buddy Network and LGBT+ representative.The Diversity & Inclusion Manager used me as the key person within Wales to make sure that communication of D&I objectives had been carried out effectively.In 2017 I applied for a project run by a team of people called ‘Collectively’, which was funded by M&S, Unilever, and Google to try and help make a change in today's world. I was successful out of over 500 people, only 100 were chosen to take part and only 50 of those were from M&S. The idea of this project was to come together and think of ways to change inequality in the world, be it at work, in schools, and any other area of everyday life. At the start of the project, it was just a get-to-know each area that could be used, mental health was a rather big issue that struck a lot of people, and this is what the team I worked with focused on. Our team was named ‘what1thing’, so set out to ask what 1 thing a business could change to make an employee's life better in the workplace. This was challenging as my team and I were not all in the same place, four members were based in London and I was based in West Wales, so it took a lot of planning and execution to get time to talk to each other without being present in the same building. At the end of the project, we got together to create a presentation which was delivered to people from all walks of life e.g., - NGOs and other business owners. I was tasked with creating a short information burst video to showcase at our presentation, I made many different renders of the video. The ‘what1thing’ project was successful and M&S looked at how their policies supported employees with mental health and made the necessary change to the policies.
