I am a first year BSc student studying at UNB, and inspiring to become a Surgical Nurse/Registered Nurse. Being a BSc (bachelor of science) student, has made me more and more interested every single day about the world of chemistry, physics, but more than anything, the world of biology. I have always been fascinated by the idea of how living things act, work, mature and basically how they live. But, I would like to study and learn how they do all of these things in the human body... I would like to use that knowledge to aid other people, and try my best to keep them feeling alive and healthy.In recent years, I have been in total awe with the idea of surgery in the operating room. So much so that I got a job at my local hospital, right after high school, as a pandemic screener! and while working there as a pandemic screener, I took the time to talk to many different doctors and nurses, to explore my options of future jobs in the medical field, and the idea of being a surgical nurse struck me the most. Being a surgical nurse means I get to be in the operating room and watch surgery happen right in front of me... it also means I get to learn more and more from the preforming surgeon, which excites me because I have always loved learning. I also love to solve problems and I am a bit of a perfectionist, which I believe to be a good set of traits to have for someone who aspires to work in the operating room as surgical nurse. Day by day, I find myself constantly thinking about my future and my fondness for the medical field, and hoping I can implement my knowledge and skills to achieve a spot in it as my life long career. So, in the meantime, I will always be looking for more job opportunities in the medical field!
