This role involved fully supporting all aircraft engineering trades in a supervisory capacity. I carry out all aspects of fault diagnosis and fault rectification, coupled with in-depth preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing of complex systems, sub systems, aircraft and specialist tools. Maintaining operational effectiveness and airworthiness of an aircraft fleet or high value assets within a 1st line maintenance environment.I carry out the flight line servicing of aircraft, replenishing aircraft systems including refueling and liquid oxygen charging; along with forecasting inspection cycles for senior management and other trades, so as not to reduce operational output. Working alongside various military and civilian tradesmen I am accustomed to meeting the customer requirement and remain empathic towards other team members needs while supporting a continued business function. Regularly delivering against performance criteria and exceeding various targets. I often work beyond my contracted working hours to ensure each task is completed to a satisfactory standard. This philosophy is something I also expect from my team, who fully understand the need; meaning their professional standards have improved under my leadership.

Working as part of a dynamic and multi-faceted engineering team (12 staff) responsible for supervising the maintenance of fixed wing aircraft and associated aviation assets to a high standard. Responsible for ensuring maintenance carried out is done so with airworthiness and safety at the forefront of technicians’ minds. I provide legal certification for a wide array of activities, all within a MAOS 145 environment. My skills and expertise are used to great advantage when fault diagnosis is required on in-depth systems, with all work being independently checked and signed off to the highest of standards. Capable of fault diagnosis, rectification, preventative and scheduled maintenance often involving Test Equipment and Specialised Test Sets, along with an ability to manage complex and diverse programmes for single or multiple stakeholders, addressing procedure compliance and providing leadership to internal and external clients. I am great believer in fostering new and existing relationships, empathically taking on board any feedback while remaining accountable for all outcomes within my own work.

This role allowed me to build up my knowledge in specific testing and gauging equipment. Within this period, I honed my skills with multiple specialised equipment, including Sidescan Sonar Systems. Gyro’s, USBL/LBL (Ultra-short Base Line Acoustic/ Long Baseline Acoustic) equipment. Multi Beam Sonars, Sub-Bottom Profilers, Motion Sensors, Survey Winches, ROV’s and Fibre-Optic Multiplexers. This involved the full testing, inspection, repair and maintenance in line with multiple manufacturers’ guidelines. Experienced in testing, mobilisation, operation and repair of equipment both in a workshop environment and on board survey vessels.

Specialising in the field of avionics and having undertaken an in-depth training package, I worked my way to becoming a team leader and demonstrated SME knowledge with a wide number of systems within the aircraft fleet. Regularly relied upon to debrief aircrew on system faults; this information, along with relevant maintenance procedures and schematic drawings I was able to determine faults, prioritise engineering resources, demand consumables and necessary spares, all while leading a dynamic team to perform under pressure when required to do so. I consider myself to be a capable, adaptable and agile engineering team leader that conforms to the needs of the organisation and remains flexible in all situations. I am often required to work extended hours to accommodate the full rectification of aircraft and their components parts while adhering to operating procedures, H&S legislation and risk assessments to conduct maintenance activities. I possess a wealth of experience in the management of resources, which includes tooling, spares and specialist test equipment/gauges worth in excess of £1m. Not only this, but it is also expected that I am conversant in the full pre/post-use inspections of each piece of equipment, and as such, hold necessary authorisations in each and can provide training to junior team members in their use. Key responsibilities:• Carry out annual routine maintenance, calibration of electrical / avionic test equipment and calibrating mechanical pressure gauges using dead weight test machines.• Routinely work anti-social extended shifts and short notice hour changes. Carrying out and supervising security duties including carrying loaded armed loaded weapons requiring high level of trust and diligence.• Quality Auditor; acting as a quality advisor for ISO 9001 implementations by carrying out quality audits, continual improvement, producing quality occurrence reports, formulating recommendations and highlighting shortfalls.
