This role has 5 Senior Manager direct reports and a global organisation of 50 people. In this position I was awarded the 2011 Presidents award for leading the cross company crisis task force following the Japan earthquake and resulting tsunami which culminated in the biggest ever impact to the post –war electronics global supply chain.

Responsible for the Global Letter of Credit team and the Delivery Coordination team for Europe, Middle East and Africa which is made up of 16 people in total. This team had very low motivation, little confidence in management and undocumented muddled processes when I took over in June 2007. Since then we have worked with structuring the team, documenting process, combating sources of frustration, clarifying roles and responsibilities and aligning our internal customer expectations.

Responsible for an innovative project which was initiated to develop agility in the backend supply chain for sourcing of variant, inbox and customised material. New solutions were required to get away from the dependency on forecast and to create increased availability of variant material and flexibility to capture shifting order patterns. The project has been a total success and implementation has seen massive increases in the ability to meet customer request, decreases in end of life costs and stabilization of production leading to visible bottom line benefit. The target of 24hr component call off lead-time has been attained and major strides towards a fully flexible solution are underway. The success of this project lead to a nomination for the revered Presidents Award, the highest employee accreditation within Sony Ericsson.
