Technical Support Manager
Stockport, United Kingdom
My main responsibilities within the business are to offer Technical Support for Staff and Dealers, via telephone or email. Another major role is to help dealers project manage large orders, from quote stage right through to despatch. Training is also a large part of my current role. Training Dealers and Staff members on a variety of products and services. All courses are written in house, and delivered by myself. My role within Hunter Douglas UK has developed from joining in 1999 as an Area Sales Manager covering the ‘South Central’ region, moving to cover Central London in 2004. In 2007 I moved to Head Office in Stockport, Cheshire, to head up the ‘Training Academy’. The department had been running for 6 years with very little growth, averaging at around 250 delegates per year. Once I had rewritten all the courses, given the training a ‘face lift’ we successfully trained just under 1,000 delegates. In September of 2007 eLearning was introduced to the Academy, it was slow to start with, by 2013 we were training an extra 1,500 delegates a year via the platform.
