I have extensive experience, gained over thirty years including post-military and commercial employment within National & International logistics management, operations and business development. They have been - Managing the transnational transportation of chemicals to handling and forwarding sea freight for customers, managing Iraqi Oil Ministry reconstruction projects in immediate post conflict Iraq to the warehousing and transportation of base ferrous and non-ferrous metals.My approach is task-focused, primarily addressing the overarching strategic requirement for coherent and viable operations whilst factoring in specific geopolitical and business conditions in accordance with corporate aims and objectives, a framework I have successfully and imaginatively applied across a range of logistics scenarios over many years.I am an excellent leader with a proven track record of managing large teams who expects and achieves a high level of commitment and application, fostering mutual respect in a collaborative and therefore ultimately productive environment. I am equally comfortable managing up the chain to Board level where my communication skills and confident approach help to ensure an effective two way understanding regarding the setting and achieving of goals.My business development and customer relationship skills have resulted in close relationships with customers and service providers alike. I have held financial responsibility for P&L, balance sheet, procurement, purchasing and budgeting and am therefore comfortable working alongside Financial Directors and Account Managers in all areas of corporate expenditure and finance.
