With his passion for software engineering and intimate knowledge of embedded systems, software and technology Simon was a prime candidate for a wide variety of projects. This position required Simon to hold a Baseline security clearance.

Upon completion of his studies at Flinders University Simon was employed full-time to support the centralised configuration management and monitoring system which he had designed and developed as part of his honours thesis for SAGE Automation. This platform utilises a number of software technologies including Qt, C++, Python, JavaScript, MQTT and Ignition SCADA.

While studying at Flinders University Simon continued to work three day weeks at SAGE Automation. During this period Simon was responsible for refinement and optimisation of the device developed during the work placement program. Additionally, Simon was responsible for the development of APIs, software and firmware for interfacing with various Modbus, RS232/485 and Ethernet devices to extend the capabilities of the device worked on previously.In his final year at Flinders University as part of his honours thesis Simon designed and developed a centralised configuration management and monitoring system for the device he had worked on during the work placement program.

As part of the Flinders University work placement program Simon contributed to the design and development of an electronic device for detecting pedestrian and traffic presence through the use of wireless technologies such as Bluetooth and IEEE 802.11 WiFi. Simon was responsible for developing both the software and firmware for this device as well as designing several sections of the PCB.
