My whole career has been in the lighting industry, both design & sales, for over 35 years. Having most recently worked for Aubrilam as UK country manager, responsible for supporting the UK distributor, sales & marketing activities, with an emphasis on external public realm & landscape solutions, promoting sustainable timber columns, lighting & furniture. I have a background with both UK and international business development, sales, partnerships, marketing, and managing distribution. With an extensive lighting knowledge base, I have worked in architectural lighting both interior and exterior. Due to my international roles, I have extensive global customer contacts in lighting and ancillary industries, I have travelled extensively, & given lighting presentations all over the world. These have been for lighting design, or product sales related. I have excellent interpersonal skills, with an international & diverse client background.For 15 years I was involved in extensive retail lighting for Liverpool stores in Mexico, I was responsible for the early lighting design & in store mock-ups that led to substantial sales. I spent a lot of time in the region building up a substantial business with my partners. It has been extremely rewarding to be part of so many amazing projects & achievements. I have been fortunate to work with & learn from some amazing inspirational luminaries during my career, John Cullen, Janet Turner, Axel Stockmar, Terence Woodgate to name a few. I was asked to be the industry partner supporting some research projects at the Helen Hamlyn Centre for Design (part of the Royal College of Art). The Centre is a global leader in Inclusive Design, Design Thinking and Creative Leadership, this industry collaboration with themes around lighting for Local Urban Communities. I am a proactive member of the following professional organisations, ILP (Institute of Lighting Professionals), SLL (Society of Light & Lighting), an affiliate member of the Landscape Institute. I am based just east of London & I regularly attend networking events, presentations, webinars, debates, researching & keeping abreast of all latest lighting & architectural trends.With a BA Hons in Fine Sculpture combined with History of Art, I have always been interested in art & design. Lighting design has been my creative outlet. Outside of work I am a Samaritans listening volunteer.
