I have been working in Retail DIY and Trade Building Materials management for 36 years. My career started with B&Q in 1987 at its Llandudno store, where I worked in all of its departments. I was promoted to Assistant Manager at Queensferry store; followed by Wrexham and back to Llandudno. My first Store Manager role was at Lancaster store; followed by Chorley, Altrincham and eventually the Jersey store. I was promoted to Area Director Channel Islands, before leaving B&Q to join Normans Builders Merchants in 2001 as Project Manager. I joined the Board of Directors as Commercial Director in 2005; and promoted to Managing Director in 2010. Normans was acquired by Stark Group in 2023. I am happily married and have two children; Sean who is 32 and Ela who is 9. My main hobbies include golf and fishing.
