Having left the Home Office, Simon then worked from 2012-2013 for a Cardiff Solicitors in predominantly publicly funded Asylum and Immigration matters before joining Eastgate Chambers, Staffordshire. Simon has established a niche private practice with a strong client base and following as the only provider of Immigration advice in Cannock and Stafford with a reputation for demonstrating a dedicated commitment to individuals and businesses. In 2018 Simon was instrumental in achieving a new Legal Aid contract in the Asylum & Immigration category enabling us to open a new office in Wrexham which he now manages. Simon has built strong relationships with local stakeholders & campaigns for an equitable approach from the Home Office to Asylum seekers based in North Wales. Pre pandemic he mentored students from the University of Chester Law school establishing a pro bono project to explore Exceptional Case Funding for human rights cases ordinarily excluded from Legal Aid.
