Project: - Moskito Island Value: -$255 MillionClient: - Ten Private ClientsSector: Bespoke High End ConstructionA unique role working for a development management company acting as the client representatives but with oversight over the design, cost management and building of Prestigious Bespoke Estates for wealthy individuals. Comprising of ten private estate lots with refined amenities Moskito island is a rare opportunity for clients to build their tranquil retreats. My initial role on Moskito involved the preparation and finalising of the insurance claim and reinstatement budgets as a result of the devastation and destruction caused by Hurricane Irma in September 2017 to the Branson Estate and refined amenities. I assisted the main contractors in the preparation, submissions and agreement of the insurance claims for the estate projects that were being constructed. I led the procurement and negotiation of the contract prices with the main contractors for two of the estates and carried out commercial management duties on the remaining. This involved reviewing and authorising payment application, change orders, prolongation and EOTs, proposing and implementation of VE options and advising on terms of the contract. My main duties on the project were to look after two separate packages of works. These were bridges and parapets. Each package of works had between ten and twenty subcontractors to manage and each a separate Cost Value Reconciliation Report. Senior Quantity Surveyor

London, England, United Kingdom

Project: - Paddington Spans 1-3 Value: -£31 MillionClient: - Network RailSector: Civil Engineering and InfrastructureA face lift of the Grade I listed London Paddington Station. The works involved a complex array of temporary works to gain access to the stations roof to allow cleaning, strengthening and decoration works. The scheme included the installation of improved luminaires and replacement of the polycarbonate roofing system. The aim of the project was to achieve a brighter environment for the millions of customers who visit Paddington each year. The complex nature of the temporary works meant the works were carried out in a live rail environment which created difficulties. The project had a number of Loss and Expense claims and claims for Extension of Time due to the client not providing adequate access to the work sites. I was responsible for the change management on the project and implemented a number of systems to assist in the recording of the change to the client. As Senior Quantity Surveyor on this project I was responsible for management of the main subcontractors on the project as well as the periodic reporting to the Joint Venture and to Morgan Sindall directors. A key learning experience from this project was my involvement in an Adjudication between a sub-contractor and Colas Rail Morgan Sindall JV.
