I am responsible for the delivery of Health, Safety and Compliance for all Electrical Systems.I act as the technical authority on all building electrical related matters associated with Health, Safety, Compliance and Technical Standards associated with maintenance activities and minor and major projects.I am also the Authorised Person for the following activities • High Voltage Systems• Complex LV Systems• Fire and Emergency Lighting • Passenger and Goods Lifts • IT Infrastructure I have the technical responsibility for all Electrical Services infrastructure life cycle replacement and major maintenance.I also have the responsibility for carrying out audits of the Management System Procedures for Electrical Installations in accordance with OHSAS 18001.Attained BEng (Hons) Building Services Engineering in 1998 and became a Chartered Engineer in 2003.

I was responsible for the keeping of good order and discipline within the College. The College has 722 resident students but a membership of over 2000. My role was mostly judicial in nature, allowing my three assistants to investigate any infractions of the College Rules that may occur over the academic year.In 2008 became the Vice Principal of the College. During the academic year 2014/15 acted as Principal whilst we recruited a new Principal.After five terms of office it's time to hand the office to someone else. Enjoyed every minute!

This is my second term of office as Chair of the North West Region, the associations aim locally and nationally is to:•To promote, foster and develop the knowledge and skills of University Engineers.•To assist, in conjunction with the Association of University Directors of Estates (AUDE), the advancement of Estates and Buildings professionalism within Universities.•To enhance the Maintenance, Protection and Promotion of quality educational Estates and Buildings to improve the educational environment for both students and staff of Institutions.•To provide a means by which the view, contributions and professional knowledge and skills of University Engineers can be communicated to AUDE and appropriate University and Professional Institutions.•To provide the means of an interchange of information between University Engineers on technical and managerial aspects of the maintenance and development of University Estates and Buildings.•Through the above activities, to provide an avenue through which Engineers and other Estates staff can receive accredited Continuing Professional Development (CPD) which is a requirement of their respective professional bodies.

I was a Part Time Lecturer of Electrical Installations teaching the course for City and Guilds 2330. This was mostly delivered in 3hour slots in the evenings throughout the academic year.

Worked on all aspects of Electrical Installation work, including industrial, domestic wiring and data communications.
