I am leading my department through a period of growth at Cornwallis Academy, promoting excellent Teaching and Learning and striving for outstanding outcomes for our students.Additional experience of managing a diverse team of teachers with an equally wide range of skills. This includes appropriate deployment of staff, budgetary responsibility and accountability for teaching practice and results across all key stages within the department.I have worked as an examiner with multiple exam boards since 2005, gaining valuable experience of the examination process, expectations and insight. This has been further enhanced by taking on the role of team leader to further drive up standards in my department's application of mark schemes, exemplar responses, etc.In addition, practice GCSE papers written by me were published by ZigZag in 2018. The process of writing them was made possible by having experience of the examination process. This in turn opened up tutoring roles with private revision companies and offers to consult on various aspects of teaching and learning for Geography in schools. This included developing an engaging curriculum, training staff how to develop exam technique and accurate marking of PPE/Mock exams.
