I’m fortunate to lead a team of interdisciplinary colleagues working across the field of population health through discovery and application across the campuses of the University of Kansas School of Medicine. Help us advance this work to address disparities in diverse, rural and urban communities throughout Kansas and across the country.My own research focuses on mixed-methods team science to improve delivery of cancer prevention and cancer care among underserved populations, especially through safety-net organizations. I have a particular interest in how we optimize for complex patients, those with multiple chronic conditions (multi-morbidity), using multilevel interventions across the care continuum.I serve in editorial roles for Health Psychology and the Journal of Cancer Survivorship. I review for two programs of the National Science Foundation (NSF), the Netherlands, in addition to the National Institutes of Health (NIH).I currently serve as president of Population Health Leaders in Academic Medicine (PHLAM), an affiliate of the AAMC Council of Faculty & Academic Societies. I previously held various leadership positions, both elected and appointed, in the American Anthropological Association (AAA). I've been a Sustaining Fellow of the Society for Applied Anthropology (SfAA) since 2009.Specialties: Cancer prevention & control.
