- Provided a vital communication tool for the OE Space programme by creating a model to visualise where departments are located in buildings across the College campuses.The resulting images formed a “visualisation wall” where key messages of the programme could be displayed in an engaging and accessible format.- Produced various models in Excel to help analyse and present College Space data in an easily interpretable manner.- Produced detailed written research on the space sharing policies of our competitor institutions, expanding the scope of the research to international competitors such as NYU and MIT. - Facilitated a Rapid Improvement Event between Research Services and Academics in Engineering and Natural Sciences aimed at resolving differences over research deadlines.- Generated detailed statistical analysis of the College’s teaching rooms, including a visual tool that allowed various options for banding room sizes to be quickly generated and compared. This enabled the space policy development to proceed with solid facts, rather than previously held assumptions, behind it.- Worked with Campus Services on various aspects of a diagnostic to improve operational aspects of Campus Services and Estates Facilities, including running focus groups, carrying out observations and doing analytical work on various aspects of their work. This required the development of an effective system in order to communicate the College’s internal procedures to external people.- Managed the recruitment process for a group of new finance trainees, including advertising, the filtering process, interview days and their eventual induction to the College.November 2014 – November 2015: Mechanical Engineering, Finance and Research Officer- Answered and dealt with a multitude of diverse queries from students regarding their finances, ranging from expense payments through to getting advances and purchasing equipment for projects. Managed staff accounts to prevent overspending.- Acted as a point of contact for researchers and academics for research costings, where I would generate what their research proposal would cost in order for them to provide a budget figure for research councils.- Redesigned the departmental student expenses system, which required six cabinets of paper files and a laborious photocopying process, as well as the unsatisfactory process of having to flick through a folder of many hundreds of pages to find the relevant photocopy if a student had a query. Created a computerised system that allowed us to do away with the cabinets, creating space in the office, reduce the time taken to log the claim, and be able to bring up the student’s claim on a screen in seconds if they had a query.- Worked on an allocation exercise that divided income between academics based on their relative success – came up with a more visual way of communicating this to them in order to make the process more transparent and easy to understand.- Created Purchase Orders, dealt with invoices and various generic finance queries for the department
