As the organisation’s first communications lead, I established InfluenceMap as the ‘go to’ global think tank for media outlets wanting research on how corporations are lobbying on climate policy. By leveraging my network of contacts and developing new ones, I increased media coverage by a factor of 10 in two years, including first time coverage in The New York Times, BBC News, PBS, NPR, The Washington Post, and many others. I designed, developed and executed communications strategies, coordinated media responses, oversaw public relations agency contracts, boosted social media reach, provided media training for analysts speaking with journalists, coordinated campaign material with external stakeholders, and established methodologies and feedback sessions for measuring success.

Working in a variety of roles at CNN’s busy London bureau, I led cross-functional teams during breaking news situations to ensure there was a clear flow of information to on-air show teams around the globe.
