Owner/Operator of electrical retail business. I started the company in 2003 as a sole trader, and grew the business over the years, eventuallyemploying 17 staff and working with clients including Tesco, Asda, Argos and Amazon. Responsibilities included overseeing and maintaining highest levels of customer service, purchasing,operations management, company finances, maintenance and marketing of the websites.

Having started as a general staff member in 1986, I then went on to become a Floor Manager,Assistant Restaurant Manager, Restaurant Manager, General Manager and Operations Consultant (AreaManager) with responsibility for 10 local restaurants and 650 employees. As a Restaurant manager, I was responsible for the proactive management and co-ordination ofemployees, products and equipment to achieve a smooth operation and profitable results. I was also seconded to the national training department, responsible for management training ofhealth and food safety to new management recruits, and regularly presented to regional restaurantmanagers at regional meetings and conferences. During my time at McDonald's, I benefited from extensive, well renowned operations, business andpeople training, attending many management and operational courses. Major achievements include: • Overseeing the opening and operation of a brand new restaurant in Strood, Kent. This involved coordination of building and equipment contractors and the recruitment and training of 110 staff. • Achieving lowest staff turnover in London and South-East 1998 • Achieving highest grades of Food Safety in London and South-East 1999 • Regular achievement awards for beating company sales and profit targets
