Current Role - Learndirect-Capita - IT Infrastructure TechnicianMy main duties include the monitoring and maintaining of all sites across the business to bring the proactive resolution of any issues before they affect service. My team is also responsible for the maintenance and delivery of desktop computing, infrastructure assets and client machines. I work closely with our other 3rd line teams and external 3rd parties managing faults through to their completion. I’m responsible for the planning of any changes, building and installing any new switches to sites where growth is necessary.Most Weekends I’m responsible for managing our key account service on call to provide a speedy resolution to stop any service impacts and service credits being issued. I also take technical escalated calls from our first line teams working each call through to completion and feeding back the findings for their own knowledgebase and progression. Role HighlightI was the lead engineer working on my own tasked with gathering site information about our 3rd party’s sites current topology, equipment, Interlinks, switches, Wan and Lan speeds and see about future proofing these sites with any equipment that would add a cost-effective value to the site and plan out the migration by liaising with the sites, ISP’s and the engineers. I planned this out in such a way that on the day of migration I could remotely migrate any site by rebuilding the switches and servers with my new build configuration and move them onto the new routers. I did this so that we could you basic level engineers making the project cost effective. I also allocated the DHCP scopes and set up the primary and secondary fail overs

I migrated the user based from exchange 2003 to 2008.Worked in many test DR situations moving our site to our DR offices testing the systems were up and working and then moving the sites back.I set up all the new users’ accounts and set the permission to share mailboxes and distribution lists.
