As well as expertise in setting up from scratch Project Management Support Offices and Project Management Groups to functionally manage large PM teams and their processes, I also have experience on CMMi improvement and PM process manufacture and roll out. I have provided professional presentations to the University of Glamorgan 'Project Management Wales' seminar 2009, the APM South Wales Branch Meeting and to the Office of National Statistics in Newport on the processes involved in moving from a project orientated company to a strong functionally managed matrix organisation to meet both PMI and APM best practise for Project Management.

Whilst awaiting an assignment in an Interim Project Management role I am busily engaged as the Communications Director for the Sealed Knot, a charitable institution that re-enacts battles of the English Civil War throughout the country. My current projects are to reinstate a hard copy in-house magazine that was previously soft copy only (retro technology, but effective), set up a new Media Team and engage a Public Relations Officer centrally, and grow a team of PRO's amongst the Regiments of the Society. I am also responsible for a Brigade of 5 Regiments within the Society, so am being kept busy!

February 2006 to February 2010 EADS Head of the Project Management Group (PMG)Responsible for 8 direct reports and functionally responsible for the Project Management (PM) team of 185 Project Managers, Risk Managers and Project Controllers, reported to the CEO and was a member of the CEO’s Board. Successfully set up from scratch the PMG, responsible for 3 PMO’s. Moved the company from a project led organisation to a matrix one where projects were fully supported by a professional PM function. The PMG provided coordination and governance to the PM team with centralised, European wide, processes. Took the PM community from CMMi Level 1 to Level 2, with preparation for Level 3, to support the £200m business. Set up and rolled out a European wide Business Management system with associated international processes and toolsets.
