The OMA facilitates and promotes the growing of mallees for landcare, bioenergy, carbon and eucalyptus oil. The OMA is advising several firms on how to initiate and maintain a biofuels industry utilising existing plantations and encouraging a new resource to be established on farms.Currently there are ten firms seeking access to mallee biomass as a second generation feedstock.

As Director of social Policy I convened the Social Policy Roadmap Group which investigated improvements to the delivery of services. As Director of Economic Policy I investigated local government reform and innovative infrastructure delivery. I played a key role on the development of the Carbon Rights Bill which was enacted in 2003.

    We commissioned the creation of a program to simulate program of emissions trading, VETP or Virtual Emissions Trading Program. This was subsequently used by companies to educate executives about carbon policy issues and implications for their firm and at several conferences. EcoCarbon analysed the results and used this as part of educational activities and boardroom briefings.

    The Perth Theatre Trust managed several venues in Perth including the Perth Concert hall, His Majesty's Theatre, Subiaco Theatre Centre and other smaller venues. I was instrumental in the creation of a national arts centre association and the national touring program Playing Australia. Playing Australia distributed Commonwealth funding to facilitate national touring of the performing arts and regional festivals. I was the inaugural Chair of Playing Australia and held that position for five years.
