After 14 years working as a skilled antique restorer and bespoke maker, I founded Nocturne in 2011, launching my own range of lighting alongside carrying out interior design commissions and restoration projects for the antiques trade. My designs are developed from a love of materials and making. Inspired by the quality of 40s and 50s design, they aim to be utile and elegant. The core materials I use in my work are hardwoods, polished and nickel plated brass and stainless steel, and I employ a broad range of skilled processes such as silver-soldering, sheet metal work, metal turning, casting and non-ferrous metal-working. Drawing upon my extensive experience of project management and design, I work closely with old and new clients to deliver bespoke commissions that can range from site specific, individual pieces to large quantities of a single design.www.nocturneworkshop.com
