Over two decades, he built Melbourne hospitality group Roar Projects from the ground up into an industry leader with a ~$20m p.a. turnover. A six-month stint with Top Shelf International (TSI ASX) saw him lead the company to the ASX while securing $10m in revenue. His latest project has taken him into Bali to co-found and develop Further, an AD100 architect-designed boutique hotel opening in 2023.Alongside his commercial ventures, Simon’s charity leadership with Goldie’s Angels, established to fund research into the rare disease Ataxia Telangiectasia (A-T) that affects his youngest daughter, saw him secure a government medical grant of a clinical trial for every affected Australian child, which has since successfully reached phase 3.Decades of experience strategically delivering above and beyond business objectives underpin Simon’s expertise in creating brand masterplans and design blueprints, leading location scouting, land acquisition and design tendering. He manages risk, due diligence, and permit zoning for the likes of Scorpios, Soho House, Pacha Group, Further, and other international hospitality leaders.As a natural storyteller and connector attune to lasting trajectories in global design, Simon draws on his extensive international network of leading creatives – among them MORQ, Studio Rick Joy, and Edition Office – to cultivate long-term partnerships in multiple markets, connecting best-in-class talent with exceptional opportunities that are as commercially successful as they are culturally resonant.
