As of the 1st October 2016 I transferred to the Strategic Services (Europe) team. The team provides Data Management System services (consultancy, sales and project execution) to other Emerson business units and direct to end users, primarily using OSIsoft PI. Also as of the 1st October Emerson consolidated their 8 divisions, one of which was Emerson Process Management, into 2 divisions - Automation Solutions and Commercial & Residential Solutions.

As of the 1st October 2011 I transferred to another division of Emerson Process Management, Remote Automation Solutions. I continue to provide consultancy and sales for projects worldwide using OSISoft PI as the technology platform.

I provide sales and consultancy for real-time data management projects and business applications primarily in the Oil & Gas industry, with experience also in Power and Chemicals. The 'tool' used is OSISoft PI, and I have been working with this since 1995 to deliver over 100 systems worldwide. Customers include Shell, BP, ConocoPhillips, TOTAL, Nigeria LNG and ESB. METCO Services is a division of Emerson Process Management, an OSISoft Platinum level VAR.

During this period I acted as the Software Services Group Manager, responsible for the P&L for the group. My role involved business development, line management, project management, consultancy and OSI PI project execution with a team of engineers and consultants.

My role during this period was in the delivery of projects for MDC, a division of Emerson Process Management since 2000 and privately owned prior to that. Projects were mainly in the Oil & Gas and Power sectors, based on the OSISoft PI platform, with integration to with Real-Time Optimiser and Performance Monitoring products. Projects ranged in size from $10K to $2M+. I also provided business development and project consultancy.

As senior engineer I was responsible for providing solutions design around the OSISoft platform and responsibility for delivering the technical aspects of these projects to the Operations department on time and budget.

Started as a programmer, using C and FORTRAN on VAX VMS platform working on our Real-Time optimiser software products. Ported these products from VMS and SMG graphics to XWindows, then migrated onto other platforms including Dec Alpha, UNIX (AIX, Solaris, HPUX). Moved into providing development support to the projects department and real-time Information Systems, initially with our own products (PREMIS) and then moving onto the OSISoft platform. Most of my time at SERCO was spent as a programmer working on a Steel Mill project, providing a Material Tracking System which tracked the steel as it came into the mill as ingots, and rolled and split into bundles. I provided the HMI interface to multiple VT terminals and a Shadow system. Development was DECC, System Services and Library Services API.
