Over the last 15 years, I have worked on a range of coral reef research and conservation programs, with strong connections with NGOs, MPA managers, academic researchers and private companies. I started studying coral reef fish assemblages at Los Roques archipelago, Venezuela, and evaluated the early impacts of lionfish invasion on those reefs. Later, I had the opportunity to develop the use of Passive Acoustic Monitoring to improve coral reef monitoring, leading or collaborating to several projects in the Indo-Pacific. Convinced by the high potential of this tool, I am currently continuing its development through R&D projects and direct applications to coral reef conservation.
