There is also an established retail delivery network , primarily for magazine distribution to every retail outlet in NZ, Ovato Retail Distribution. With over 380 FTE's, annual turnover in excess of $130m p.a. and 24/7 operations the role is both challenging and rewarding in a competitive media landscape. Beacon Media Group comprised 8 companies at the time it was under my management, with development at Beacon Print Hawke's Bay. Expansion in 2014 saw Beacon Print Whakatane plant upgraded with additional capacity to cope with an increasing workload. Ongoing developments have included web based tools for our newspaper clients to use, the roll out of a digital subscription base for www.whakatanebeacon.co.nz , the first in NZ to put content behind a digital subscription interface.
