Employed by the McGrath group in 2008 as a Site Manager, contracted to Balfour Beatty and Metronet. Responsible for managing an £12m new underground station at the Northern Ticket Hall in Kings cross.I was responsible for managing a workforce of up to 50 site fitters and supervisors on day and night shift, 7 days a week. We were contracted to complete the fit out of the new stainless steel tunnel lining, cladding and cable management systems. My duties also involved dealing with the client on a daily basis, producing programmes, Risk Assessments and Method Statements. I had to co-ordinate site deliveries, the day and night shift work teams and any fabrication alterations which the client requested.We managed to successfully complete the project on time and within budget.When the NTH project completed in January 2010, McGrath’s had not enough work to keep me on as a site manager and offered me a position at a depot which they were opening in Tottenham. Based on the economic climate, I accepted the position as a Distribution Co-coordinator/Facilitations Manager.I was responsible for co-ordinating all the site deliveries from our workshop in Northern Ireland, receiving them at the depot and despatching them to site.I created a MS Access database to control the movement of materials as well as items and consumables received from 3rd party suppliers.My duties also including managing and maintaining the depot which housed office staff.I was responsible for the control of hire gear for all our UK sites.It was a responsible position which required me to consistently interact with up 15 sites and to facilitate them with materials, consumables, site reqs and hire items they required. It was imperative they received accurate and prompt feedback as to not delay any installations on site.

I was recruited as a contracts manager for a medium sized steel company in Chiswick, London. The main line of work involved the supple and installation of structural steel work for construction companies and general builders. Job sizes range from one or two beams to 50-60 tonnes and also to design fabricate and install architectural metal work, such as stair cases, railings and balustrades in mild stainless steel and glass.I worked with a team of five technical staff and project managers, draughtsmen.It is a comprehensive role covering the whole job cycle right from the initial enquiries, meeting the customer and initially surveying the site, estimating the job, securing the order and procurement, outsourcing work, managing subcontractors, technical enquiries and advice billing, securing payment.It required a professional attitude and the ability to work un supervised and be confident in making decisions and solving problems as they arise as well as planning ahead to achieve an efficient flow of work..
