Site Manager
CurrentEmployed by the McGrath group in 2008 as a Site Manager, contracted to Balfour Beatty and Metronet. Responsible for managing an £12m new underground station at the Northern Ticket Hall in Kings cross.I was responsible for managing a workforce of up to 50 site fitters and supervisors on day and night shift, 7 days a week. We were contracted to complete the fit out of the new stainless steel tunnel lining, cladding and cable management systems. My duties also involved dealing with the client on a daily basis, producing programmes, Risk Assessments and Method Statements. I had to co-ordinate site deliveries, the day and night shift work teams and any fabrication alterations which the client requested.We managed to successfully complete the project on time and within budget.When the NTH project completed in January 2010, McGrath’s had not enough work to keep me on as a site manager and offered me a position at a depot which they were opening in Tottenham. Based on the economic climate, I accepted the position as a Distribution Co-coordinator/Facilitations Manager.I was responsible for co-ordinating all the site deliveries from our workshop in Northern Ireland, receiving them at the depot and despatching them to site.I created a MS Access database to control the movement of materials as well as items and consumables received from 3rd party suppliers.My duties also including managing and maintaining the depot which housed office staff.I was responsible for the control of hire gear for all our UK sites.It was a responsible position which required me to consistently interact with up 15 sites and to facilitate them with materials, consumables, site reqs and hire items they required. It was imperative they received accurate and prompt feedback as to not delay any installations on site.
