My role at Cell Services was quite varied: I was involved in both manual testing and a small amount of automated testing of both native mobile device apps and websites and a small part was helping to project managing development of an FX app. For a large amount of my contract was responsible for ensuring the quality of a major FX companies new app as it came to market.I have used TestRail to write test cases and create test runs.Jira was used to track agile development stories to design test strategy and then to create and track bug reports.I have written Java programs in the Eclipse IDE with embedded SQL queries to extract and write data from/to a database.I was involved in the migration of a finance companies customer's database to Microsoft Dynamics CRM system.During testing I used SOAP UI to determine the veracity of the API data so as to establish exactly where the faults existed.I reported software developer time logged in Jira to project management using excel spreadsheets in which I wrote visual basic macros to extract the developer worklog for the Jira story tickets and present it in a report that was easy to read.

Ericsson produces digital telephony exchanges that are used throughout the world. I was working in a division which produced telecoms software for the UK market.• I was involved throughout at least five major project life-cycles.• SDL design language was used to capture requirements and produce object oriented design • I used Telelogic’s SDT to verify the design against the requirements at each stage of the design cycle thus ensuring that the testing phase was a short as possible as all the major problems were found at the early stages of design. • The real-time embedded software was implemented using Ericsson’s PLEX-C, a language designed to generate fast, efficient machine code for use in telephone exchanges.• I was as a technical co-ordinator for subcontractors;• Troubleshooting for the testing phases of a number of projects providing first-line support for function testers;• Co-ordinated system-wide modifications to ensure that each subsystem was updated correctly

The Avionics Management Systems department produces integrated flight management systems for fixed and rotary-wing aircraft. These consist of a modular architecture system using MIL-STD-1553B and ARINC-429 communications protocol.• Used the MASCOT design methodology, run on SD-Scion’s Perspective design tool, to design real-time embedded software• Wrote software in Pascal and tested it using processor emulators and symbolic debuggers before final production• All the work I produced at Racal was to MOD standard AQAP-13, which involved rigorous document and software version control• I was seconded to Racal Avionics Inc. (an American sister company) to design and implement the layout for a cockpit multi-funtion display, which overlaid pictures from a camera mounted on the helicopter • Designed and produced software in Borland-Pascal with graphics chip specific instructions embedded within the code• Modified the aircraft MMI to allow input via a QWERTY keyboard and designed and implemented the keyboard handler• Designed and implemented a radio communications subsystem to remotely control the three radios that were fitted to the aircraft;• Designed and implemented software, in assembler language, to drive an LCD display which displayed the frequency to which the three radios on the aircraft were tuned• Team leader during the development of the radio communications subsystem
