• Ericsson produces digital telephony exchanges that are used throughout the world. I was working in a division which produced telecoms software for the UK market.
• I was involved throughout at least five major project life-cycles.
• SDL design language was used to capture requirements and produce object oriented design
• I used Telelogic’s SDT to verify the design against the requirements at each stage of the design cycle thus ensuring that the testing phase was a short as possible as all the major problems were found at the early.
• The real-time embedded software was implemented using Ericsson’s PLEX-C, a language designed to generate fast, efficient machine code for use in telephone exchanges.

• The Avionics Management Systems department produces integrated flight management systems for fixed and rotary-wing aircraft. These consist of a modular architecture system using MIL-STD-1553B and ARINC-429.
• Used the MASCOT design methodology, run on SD-Scion’s Perspective design tool, to design real-time embedded software
• Wrote software in Pascal and tested it using processor emulators and symbolic debuggers before final production
• All the work I produced at Racal was to MOD standard AQAP-13, which involved rigorous document and software version control
• I was seconded to Racal Avionics Inc. (an American sister company) to design and implement the layout for a cockpit multi-funtion display, which overlaid pictures from a camera mounted on the helicopter
• Designed and produced software in Borland-Pascal with graphics chip specific instructions embedded within the code

South East England

• French Kier was a civil engineering and construction company.
• I interpreted the site drawings and set out the appropriate instruction markers to allow the structure to be built
• Project managed construction work to ensure that human and mechanical resources were utilised fully
• Supervision of site operatives;
• Inspected all construction work to ensure that it was of the correct standard and complied with the instruction markers I had set out
• Ensured materials and labour were ordered so that they were available when and where necessary
