Together with two other former colleagues from Lend Lease I joined UBS to set up and build a continental European, real estate investment management platform. This we achieved through a combination of organic fund launches and the acquisition of a German investment management business.

I moved from Madrid to London to become the Fund Manager for Lend Lease's first pan European, value added real estate fund. I was involved with designing the strategy of the fund, its set up and marketing to investors globally.

Following the acquisition of a Spanish real estate company, Renta Inmobiliaria, I moved to Madrid to open an office for GE Capital Real Estate in Spain. Over a three period with local partner GMP, I oversaw the restructuring of Renta against the backdrop of a rapidly recovering Spanish real estate market. My responsibilities were extended to cover the whole of Southern Europe as the business moved into Italy and Portugal.

I joined GE Capital as one of the founding members of their continental European real estate team, set up to invest debt and equity in the recovering French and pan European real estate markets. We concluded a series of major transactions including the acquisition of UIS, UIC in a joint venture with Whitehall, Selectibanque and others. GE Capital Real Estate rapidly became one of the most important investors in the French real estate market.

I joined Bourdais, as the company was then known, to undertake valuation and advisory work for international clients doing business in France and French clients overseas. Major clients included Standard Life, GE, Goldman Sachs, LendLease, Credit Agricole, Renault.
