Head Of Quality Performance & Insights
CurrentHead Of Urgent Care Resilience
Deputy Director Of Urgent Care
Assurance & Delivery Manager
I am the direct assurance lead for the four south Nottinghamshire CCGs, monitoring and supporting the delivery of the NHS mandatory constitutional standards across the Nottinghamshire and North Derbyshire Locality, including reviewing, critiquing and ultimately assuring annual activity and performance plans, financial plans and operational plans. Being a key relationship manager with appropriate CCG staff and forging relationships built on trust has enabled me to gain more constructive insight into what is happening than could be gained via textual reporting alone. This role also includes holding health systems to account for failure to deliver the required patient care, ensuring commissioners are working within the right financial budgets and that all operational, financial (including QIPP) and quality measures are appropriately taken into account within all aspects of the healthcare economy.Part of my assurance role is ensuring the healthcare system has credible, realistic and robust plans in place to recover areas of under-performance. For these system plans I have to ensure that all system partners were appropriately involved, signed up to, and ultimately accountable for their part in the recovery, certifying that plans were targeting the key areas of concern, realistic, deliverable and from a commissioner perspective backed up with appropriate contractual levers for use if required. Having a holistic system overview I am able to provide expert advice and aid to support the CCGs and system partners to aid them in providing the highest quality care for the patients they serve.Outside of the main 4 CCGs for which I am responsible, I am a subject matter expert for urgent care across our region, and more recently have also been leading on mental health covering another role for several months due to a member of staff leaving.
