In March of 2015 I was a co-contributor to the idea that a small group of highly trained individuals should respond to the remote islands of Vanuatu in the immediate aftermath of TC Pam. A team of 5 of us worked from a vessel in collaboration with the crew to open access with chainsaws, provide immediate medical assistance and relay timely and accurate assessments to the government of Vanuatu. Since then the program has expanded and is now know as Global Support and Development. From the inception till the fall of 2019, I developed and ran the operational programs overseeing access and debris removal operations, water desalination, electric power generation and para cargo capabilities. In 2019 the WASH program was expanded and that became my sole focus.
