The Quadram Institute, Bioscience is applying scientific innovative research to public health problems. This includes the development and utilisation of microphysiological systems and the analysis of the microbiome. I am proud to be part of this innovative and exciting part of Health Science research.

I was seconded from PHE for 20% of my time to link into the exciting work that the Quadram Institute Biosciences is pioneering in health related to the gut and the impact on healthy ageing as well as vaccine development.

I provide Scientific Leadership to a team of UK Governement research scientists focussed on infectious disease research. The team have a wide range of experience dealing with infectious agents perceived to be potential or emerging public health threats.

I provide Scientific Leadership to a team of UK Governement research scientists focussed on infectious disease research. The team have a wide range of experience dealing with infectious agents perceived to be potential or emerging public health threats.

As a research scientist, I assisted in the translational research associate with acellular whooping cough vaccine development. I also began to provide team leadership in a series of projects funded by UK governemnt and comercial grants against a range of infectious agents including Streptococcus pneumoniae and Neisseria meningitidis.
