Climate change. I believe it's one of the greatest problems of our time. And I also believe that as designers, we can have a great impact on the world around us through the products we design. That's why I feel that I have a responsibility to be a part of the solution, and not of the problem. Through my designs, I want to work towards a more circular society by enabling easy upgrading, repair and recycling of products. I try to improve the lives of people and bring them closer together without compromising their future.An example of this is a project I did in 2021 for the Dutch libraries to integrate Makerspaces into libraries around the country. By creating a modular workspace, I not only helped to make creation and repair tools more accessible, I also created a longer lasting product that can be adapted and upgraded according to the needs of the time.And all throughout my Bachelor and Master Industrial Product Design at Delft University of Technology, I have learned to iteratively design and improve products that serve people's needs in the best way possible. And by intermixing these skills with my sustainability vision, I also try to improve the lives of people (far into) the future.So don't wait. Our time to influence the future is now.
