The hotel aims to upgrade to a 5 star rating by renovating the existent building and building a new block extension. The scope of works includes demolitions and renovations while the hotel is running at the same time. Lightweight materials are being used to renovate the existing section of the hotel while creating a quality finish. The extension includes a new 7 floor block with additional retaining walls for more lifts and corridor extension using structural steel. A lot of MEP services coordination is involved while leaving a provision for daily running of the active hotel.

Proposed extension of Ole Sereni Hotel – Project value: Ksh. 2.5 Billion Once completeOle Sereni hotel will be elevated to a 5 star hotel boasting of a unique ambience over the Nairobi National Park and the vibrant business environment surrounding it. This will be made possible by three sets of new blocks of 14 storeys each with 3 adjoined basement levels. My scope in this project is management of site activities and supervision of works to catch up with construction timelines. Working with a labor subcontractor in team work with company staff and project consultants. The site comprises of 3 basements each covering an area of 4400 sq m and 3 independent blocks with several double height floors and a suspended pool on the 8th floor.

The establishment will be done in two phases with phase 1 having a research, laboratory and lecturing function with the second phase having the main hospital. The scope of works are building and finishing 6 blocks on a 10 acre piece of land with underground tanks, retaining walls and civil works to ensure transport, drainage and sewerage functions are in order.
