Responsible for 35 full time equivalents producing a wide range of bespoke and stock pharmaceutical products. These include both sterile and non-sterile capsules, liquids and ointments.I manage the daily work throughput within the production area. Once an order has been received it is my responsibility to ensure the product has been passed for manufacture, successfully manufactured, manufactured to an acceptable quality level and is dispatched in time for next day delivery.I am responsible for the design, implementation and training of all quality systems. It is important to note that these systems need to be suitably robust and effective as no bespoke product is chemically or microbiologically tested prior to release.Coordinator and project manager for a number of continuous improvement initiatives. These initiatives range from process improvements with respect to quality, cost saving initiatives, training and the redeployment of the current manufacturing operators.Implemented a cell working structure within the production department. This has improved control over operators and improved the lines of communication, through the introduction of daily operational review meetings. These meetings have identified downtime issues and allowed the senior management team to quantify the extent of excess labour within the department. Data taken directly from these operational review meetings has impacted directly on the strategic direction of the business.Responsible for the introduction and roll out of all production KPI’s. Following introduction they have become an integral measure for business performance and are fed into individual’s performance development plans and bonus schemes.Delivered a 25% improvement in next day delivery performance.Delivered a 3 unit per person improvement in operator performance per shift.Implementation of a robust stock management process. This continues to positively improve waste per unit cost variances on a monthly basis.

Responsible for delivering a 24/7 production schedule and successful running of a production shift containing approximately 70-80 members of staff, (dependent on numbers of agency workers, on a shift basis) Managed approx. 20 technical operators responsible for maintaining the continued output from a complex capsule assembly Rychiger machine, approx. 30 grade 2 operators responsible for the successful running of all secondary packaging activities and approx. 30 QA operators responsible for all online quality checks.Coordinated all ongoing and new machine issues which have the potential to affect the master schedule. This involves conducting online problem solving in conjunction with shift engineers or by initialising a DMAIC style project. Responsibility for escalating issues as appropriate in daily meetings.
