Simon Greiff trained as an actor at the Central School of Speech & Drama. Before moving into directing, he worked for twelve years in award winning theatre, BAFTA winning television and film, and created leading roles in the West End and across the UK. Over the past thirteen years he has directed new writing at the Pleasance Theatre, Soho Theatre, Riverside Studios, The Other Palace, 45th Street Theatre New York (part of the New York Musical Festival), Waterloo East Theatre, Theatre Royal Windsor, Stratford East, Turbine Theatre, Crazy Coqs, Finborough Theatre, and developed new work for Perfect Pitch and Ambassadors Theatre Group. Christmas 2021 he directed his first pantomime Peter Pan: The Return Of Captain Hook (Great Malvern / UK Productions) and was nominated for ‘Best Direction’ at the UK Pantomime Association Awards. Drama school directing includes The Wedding Singer, Our House, Urinetown, Betty Blue Eyes, Carrie, Little Women, Made In Dagenham, My Fair Lady, Into The Woods, Spring Awakening, Merrily We Roll Along, Godspell, A Little Night Music, Bad Girls, and Sister Act. Simon has also worked as an Associate/Resident Director on numerous commercial productions, including Matthew Warchus' award winning A Christmas Carol (Old Vic Theatre), Funny Girl starring Sheridan Smith (UK/Ireland Tour), The Rocky Horror Show (West End and UK/International Tour), Spamalot starring Joe Pasquale and Joe Tracini (UK/Ireland Tour), We Will Rock You starring Kevin Kennedy (UK/Ireland Tour), and the Tim Firth / Take That musical The Band (West End, UK/Ireland Tour, and Germany).
