Us Doe Summer Undergraduate Laboratory Internship At Nrel
CurrentDuring my SULI internship at NREL, I studied MoS2 as a scalable and cost-effective HER electrocatalyst within NREL’s solar photochemistry group. Through this project I expanded my talents in nano-scale catalyst synthesis by optimizing a Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) process to generate pristine MoS2 monolayer crystals. I then used Mott-Schottky capacitance and other electrochemical measurement techniques to inspect the electronic structure of MoS2 and its defect states. I also employed various microscopy and spectroscopy techniques (Raman, PL, UV-Vis, Ellipsometry, to characterize the quality and structure of electrocatalyst samples. I excelled on my project deliverables, including general audience abstract (selected for exemplar’s collection), research poster (presented at SULI poster Fair and Gerischer Electrochemistry Symposium), and a summative research report.
