I have over 20 years experience in the IT industry, including fifteen years experience in IT security. During this time I have designed and developed technologies ranging from firewalls, anti-virus, LANs and WANs. I have an MSc (attained with Distinction) in Microprocessor Technology and Applications, and a BSc (Hons) in Naval Architecture and Shipbuilding and I am a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). I currently work as a consultant with Green Grass Systems which I set up to provide cyber security services to businesses in the UK. In this role, I have provided assistance to universities, startups, small and medium sized companies and larger organisations such as the Home Office, Ministry of Justice, Senson and HMRC. Before Green Grass, I co-founded Redscan Ltd in August 2010, a managed security service provider (MSSP) providing advanced malware detection services to a variety of companies across several industry verticals. Prior to that I founded Netcaboose Limited that provided managed multi-factor authentication in the UK and Europe. Before Netcaboose, I co-founded and was Technical Director of Cresco Technologies Ltd, a network design and simulation solution company with customers in the USA, Europe and China.I began my career as a digital hardware and software engineer, developing pioneering speech recognition technology before moving on to work for the British Antarctic Survey (B.A.S.) as science project leader. While at the B.A.S. I spent two Antarctic winters at the research station Halley in the Antarctic, developing and enhancing analysis software for the NASA led Polar Anglo-American Conjugate Experiment (PACE) in the harshest of conditions.
