In February 2011 my role to manage the CLEO network was transferred from LUNS to One Connect Limited. Since this transfer my skills and experience has widened and includes:-Familiar with routing protocols with a working knowledge of BGP and OSPF routing protocols.Responsibility for configuring new NAT requests.Remote configuration of core Juniper MX480 routers. Working as part of a team to rollout the companies new network management configuration to all core and edge site equipment.Ongoing involvement with key IT projects within the company with recent assignment as lead network engineer on a project involving 7 schools.Configuration of new Cisco routers ready for deployment at newly migrated edge sites.Configuration of core Hatteras DSLAM equipment with the correct VPN networks and modem configuration for new sites. Vlan tagging of core LLU exchange equipment to ensure VPN’s are correctly tagged to the relevant exchange locations. Hands on and remote configuration of Hatteras DSLAM’s, Cisco routers and wireless Alvarion radios. Including firmware upgrades.A working knowledge of LLU exchange equipment and how communications provider equipment connects into the BT network.The ability to complete advanced line test diagnostics on BT copper MPF lines to identify faults that need to be reported to BT Openreach for repair.Qualified as an advance industrial climber taking regular slots of climbing duties to replace, fault find and audit radio equipment located and over 10 radio mast sites in Cumbria and Lancashire. Qualified in rigging and light lifting with recent involvement in company’s project to replace and upgrade the microwave dish backbone. Extensive experience and a working knowledge in the support of a large enterprise networking covering all aspects of the network from core router down to final customer edge devices.

Working as part of the a team providing first and second line networking and systems support to the CLEO broadband network with over 1000 edge sites. Responsibilities included:Fault diagnosis and resolution within CISCO and Juniper networking equipment.Maintaining 600+ advance bonded SDSL and 400+ fibre broadband connections Working with the company’s fast response engineers to ensure high priority jobs are dealt with promptly and within service level agreements.Providing remote technical support to the field engineers working on faults and new installations. Remote configuration of CISCO and Juniper networking equipment.Remote management of Hatteras DSLAM broadband equipment and associated broadband EFM lines.Logging and investigating faults raised by telephone, email or the company’s automated monitoring systems. Utilising the BT Openreach fault reporting and diagnosis tools to ensure faults are reported correctly and quickly repaired.Remote management and fault diagnosis of wireless radio equipment including Alvarion radios and licensed band microwave dishes.Reconciliation of the company’s monthly BT Openreach bill to spot over charges and errors and successfully contesting these charges for appropriate refunds. Working as the school’s sole ITC Technician with wide ranging responsibilities for the school’s entire IT systems and equipment. Duties included:Maintenance and management of the schools windows network.Management of the schools Windows 2003 server including active directory and group policy.Trouble shooting and fixing broken PCs including network fault finding.Deployment of new software across the school network.Development and implementation of server backup systems.Development of user help guides for school printing facilities & sensory room equipment.Supporting all staff in resolving their software and hardware IT issues.Training staff on new IT equipment and software.Inventory of existing school IT equipment.Proposals for the procurement of new IT equipment to upgrade and or replace existing equipment managing a total IT investment in March 2009 of £10k. Additionally overseeing the procurement and installation of a bespoke £5k audio visual system.Proposals for and management of the upgrade and expansion of parts of the network infrastructure.
