My focus is on innovation and quality, delivering resources and solutions to our lawyers, and also to our clients. It is great to be able to leverage from the decades of experience I have gathered as a corporate finance lawyer, at the sharp end of M&A and Private Equity, and also as a business owner, where efficiency, quality and profitable endeavour, implementing plans, and in my case founding corporate teams in Southampton and Bristol, and connecting with your customers, really matters. I think that has helped me see it from the client's perspective, and the lawyer's perspective, and although it is almost 40 years since I started as a lawyer (which was as an articled clerk in my day) I haven't forgotten what it was like on my first days, not having a clue how to do even the most basic task. I feel that I am now giving back to that younger self.I have operated in most sectors, but with a focus on the energy sector. I have been involved in renewable energy since the early days of wind power, and have a huge amount of experience in the energy sector, both within the UK and internationally. I have been lucky to have lived and operated mainly in the regions, initially the Midlands, then the South and now the South West, but also working out of London for a lot of my time, with the quality of work and clients that that brings.I really have enjoyed working with clients over the longer term, understanding their objectives and helping them achieve them. Although I am not at the sharp end of transactions any more, and am excused from working through the night, I feel that I am now more able to see the wood for the trees (and there isn't much I have not come across), so please do get in touch if you would like to pick my brain, or just for me to be a sounding board.
