SIMON HEYES BSc CEng FIMechE. Simon is currently COO of The Veterans' Foundation and a non-exec director of the British Microlight Aircraft Association.Previously, Simon was CEO of Flexitricity Ltd, an Edinburgh based company which pioneered open-market aggregated demand-side services for electricity system balancing.Simon was formerly CEO at KPS - a British company which was developing kite wind power technology with the aim of creating onshore and offshore kite electricity generation equipment.Prior to this, Simon was a director at Infinis and General Manager for Renewables at SSE, giving experience in both utility and private equity companies. He was a member of the Senior Management Team of Infinis leading up to and during initial flotation on the London stock market (FTSE 250). Simon is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer who has worked predominantly in the renewable electricity industry after periods in gas turbine manufacturing and a short service commission in the RAF.Until 2017 Simon also held a commission in the Army Reserve as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Royal Engineers.
