As a member of the BVWS (British Vintage Wireless Society) I join in with a lot of discussions about repair and performance of equipment , both modern and vintage on the associated web site and forum. With my experience gained as a TV/radio engineer and my hobby as a long distance broadcast listener I have gained many years of experience of radio techniques used and propagation on most of the frequencies used for broadcasting and I am a member of the BDXC. I have always been interested in the weather and have gained many years experience of studying observing and recording the weather. Keeping a daily record of general weather and compiling an annual stat.At the end of 2019 BBC Radio Bristol were discussing the number of black and white television licenses still being issued and asked if black and white televisions could work with today’s digital television. They liked my answer and came around to my house to record an interview with me and film some working black and white televisions for their web site. This was followed by a live broadcast from my small workshop which went out on BBC Points West.
