Core Responsibilities:I lead a high-performing team of 7 Line 1 risk and operational professionals across multiple business lines to manage the risk across marketing, public relations (PR), corporate affairs, digital, data, and complaints divisions. Collaborating with senior leaders, I set the strategic direction and vision for all risk and assurance activities in a way that enhances the quality of risk and compliance and fosters a culture of business ownership. As a leader, I cultivate a strong team culture through visible leadership, coaching and professional development.Driving the digital and data governance risk strategy, I use data-led insights to drive efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance decision-making while fostering a business-led model for data governance with data owners and business rules on managing risk. To drive success, I cultivate cross-functional relationships, driving business partner activities while delivering improvement projects, liaising with the regulators, and implementing risk management frameworks.In my role, I delivered two successful risk projects:First, leading the risk workstream for the post-acquisition separation of CFS from Commonwealth Bank (CBA), re-engineering 350 business and risk policies/processes across 6 divisions and transitioning 2000 staff.Managing a Line 1 & 2 project team that established a streamlined and robust ‘Control Assurance Standard', which also removed 1000 controls that required quarterly testing while maintaining adequate risk control.

I led a team of 4 staff to manage line 1 operational risk and finance for the CFS marketing, member outcomes, and experience division. I translated the group risk strategy into medium and short-term divisional plans executed in partnership with leaders across the product and marketing divisions. Our team established, maintained, and reviewed business risk profiles, including the effective governance of controls testing, plus fulfilled all L1 risk management obligations, including regular RCSAs, CAP testing, NFRC, and BARC reporting.Enhancing the risk culture within the organisation, I co-designed the annual divisional risk budgets in consultation with leadership, identifying and embedding cost savings while ensuring robust risk assurance and compliance governance. Acted as the key escalation point for significant risks, issues and incidents while proactively responding to changes in regulations. I established structures, processes, and frameworks to ensure risks are appropriately governed while guiding senior leaders on designing and implementing risk management best practices, controls, and treatment plans.A key achievement in my role was the design and launch of a ‘Risk Month’ program that improved the risk culture of 2000 staff across the division.

I performed a Line 2 Risk role supporting L1 stakeholders implementing the Operational Risk Management Framework (ORMF). My role was to review risk outputs and provide feedback on findings while making recommendations for improvement. I advised leaders to implement the risk framework and conduct risk assessments, updates, and control testing across 30 material risks. To drive risk compliance and a strong governance culture, I established risk scorecards and performance evaluation tools to identify and mitigate risk exposure. In addition, I built strong relationships with cross-functional stakeholders to build awareness of risk factors and influence outcomes.
