I have 25 years of experience in emergency management, primarily with the Canadian federal government (Parks Canada) as a peace officer and emergency manager. I developed my skills in complex incident management, working in senior roles on incident management teams in emergencies and disasters across Canada. I performed a senior position in emergency coordination for the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics, where I was the liaison between the provincial and federal governments. I have also worked as an Emergency Program Coordinator for the City of Revelstoke. In 2018, I became the Public Safety Coordinator for Shambhala Music Festival, overseeing innovative and pioneering safety and security programs for a team of 1,000+ staff and volunteers. Recently, I joined Odyssey Medical to expand our capacity to deliver event public safety services. I am currently completing my Masters in Disaster and Emergency Management (MA DEM) at Royal Roads University, where my area of research interest is event emergency planning and coordination. I have also had my own consulting company, Spark Solutions Ltd., for ten years, where I develop event and emergency management plans for both the public and private sectors.
