About Simon Jeffs

A career biomedical research scientist with particular expertise in the development of HIV vaccines. Over 20 years experience in the production, purification and application of HIV envelope glycoproteins. Additional interests in mucosal immunlogy, the use of virus-like particles as vaccine immunogens, immune dampening and molecular diagnostics. Teaching experience (undergraduate and postgraduate) in immunology, virology, parasitology and biotechology. Away from science, I am a published railway author and the editor of "Live Rail" - the Southern Electric Group's bimonthly magazine. Several of my Live Rail articles have been reproduced in the commercial railway press.I also have interests in photography, natural history and i'm a brilliant vegetarian cook!
