My role has me travelling up and down the East coast from Gympie up to Mackay, out to Emerald as well as covering Darwin and Mount Isa. As a supplier and innovator of Power Systems, we continue to seek out new business opportunities while nurturing our current clientele. The role entailed the re-development of the branch, its people and its image. After evaluating the staffing requirements, I implemented steps to ensure sound technical knowledge was at hand to support our business. The image of the building and business in general was raised and we developed a sound reputation for getting the job done. When the coal boom hit we again answered our customers inquiries by designing, manufacturing and installing all the necessary safety requirements for machinery operating on a coal mine. This was not limited to Volvo equipment. We covered all brands from loaders to D10 dozers to large excavators. My operational responsibilities were:• Budget Forecasting• Business Development• Cost Control• Recruitment• Management of labour • Procurement• Stocktakes• Reviewing internal processes and implementing cost effective change• Design and implementation of aftermarket accessories to equipment• Design and implementation of equipment upgrades to meet mine site requirements on Volvo, Caterpillar, Hitachi and Komatsu Equipment

Commencing 5 years ago as the Area Sales Manager, my roll progressed to incorporate the role of Product Specialist – Fluid Systems to National Business Development Manager – Fluid Systems. The key objectives were to:1) Seek out new opportunities for the business to expand into. 2) Develop stock holding criteria and monitor stock usage across the business unit3) Assist others in the development of Hydraulic Hosing Business4) Conduct meetings at all levels of management5) Develop and administer contractual supply agreements

Key responsibilities was the continued development of the service department through growth within the support bank engine program, field service department and internal service department. Key changes during my tenure:1) Increased turnover from $6 Million to $16 Million per year over a 2-1/2 year period2) Moved from a Monday – Friday operation to a seven day a week operation3) Implemented key organisational changes to accommodate for business growth while maintaining a healthy work / life balance for staff. 4) Develop budget forecasts to meet P&L requirements.5) Oversee the OH&S requirements of the business as a whole unit

My key directive was to assist the Project Manager transform the operation from a negative performer to positive performer. Within twelve months we had transformed the operation from a negative performer to Top Tier Performer topping the mines internal audit program.Key Objectives and Responsibilities:1) Supervision of rotating crews incorporating auto electricians, diesel fitters and maintenance planning personnel. 2) Auditing equipment, designating work, overseeing work practices, improving work and safety practices, developing and implementation of scopes of work 3) Continued improvement within our work practices and customer liaising The mine operated 365 days/year 24 hours/day. It was a fly in - fly out operation (2 weeks in - 1 week out). Equipment Maintained:a) a fleet of underground trucks, underground loaders some of which are equipped with line of site and tele remotes plus a number of production and development drills.

A key directive was to work toward reducing maintenance cost while improving equipment availability. Key responsibilities: • Control and Monitoring of Daily Jobs• Parts Ordering• Stock Control and alternative Supplier Support (Contracts)• Labour Supply, on and off Site• Rebuild Costing• Preparing for equipment shut downs (Parts ordering, Labour supply and freight arrangements)• Preparing Equipment Reviews• Developing Reports and budgets for the Mine Manager, Maintenance Superintendent and Underground Mine ManagerAt the time the mine had closed our fleet of equipment were operating well bellow the average operating costs of other operations. We contributed this too;1) Having a dedicated team of workers working on the same wave length 2) Continued review of work practices3) Continued review of stock holding requirements and supplier pricing4) In depth reviewing of outsourced repair work such as overhauls etc5) Very supportive mine management team

I was responsible for Establishing and developing a self- supporting Cost Efficient Operation. Duties included;• Customer Liaison.• Job Costing and Overseeing Work in Progress.• Stock Control.• Payroll Reporting.• Invoicing.• Reporting writing.• Cash Management Reconciliation (Petty cash, Cheques and Credit Accounts).• Instrumental in establishing a Mobile Maintenance Labour Supply Contract at Gun Powder Copper Mine. This contract ran for some 2 ½ Years before the company resumed full control of their operations. The Contract involved the complete supply of all labour, tooling, vehicles and the establishing of a camp in which the staff stayed while on site.• Secured and oversaw various projects that included Minor and Major Rebuilds of mining & rail equipment.• These included but were not restricted to, complete overhauling of all components, chassis modifications to except new engine designs, total re-hosing, and modifying auto electrical systems.• Sub contracted to rebuild OEM equipment within the OEM’s workshop
